2010 Region IV Festival
(Region IV: Glendale, Hollywood, San Fernando West Valley, West Los Angeles)

Chair: Alpha H. Walker
Judges: Deborah Erftenbeck, Helen Batteiger, Peter Yazbeck

 May 9, 2010

The Southern California Junior Bach Festival was founded in 1961 by Madame Alice Ehlers, protégé of Wanda Landowska and professor of harpsichord at the University of Southern California.  It was her goal to encourage the study and appreciation of the music of J.S. Bach among student musicians.  In 1977, the Complete Works Audition was established.  This event provides opportunities for the most accomplished students to challenge themselves by performing a complete work of J. S. Bach.

All of today’s performers were previously selected as winners at one of the SCJBF Branch Festivals.  The adjudicators for the Region IV Festival have selected 45% of today's performers to receive the Regional Honors Award.
Teacher Packets, which will include Adjudicator Comment Sheets, and SCJBF Regional Honors Award Medals, will be mailed to Branch chair in the next few days.

Congratulations on a successful Regional Festival.  Thanks to everyone for all their support and help throughout the day!
